FACT SHEET: Abortion care for minors in a post-Roe Wisconsin

While most people who obtain abortions in the U.S. are in their 20s and 30s,1 people under the age of 18 also seek abortion care, including in Wisconsin. Such was the case before and after the U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision in June 2022.*

Wisconsinites of all ages have difficulty accessing abortion care due to scientifically and medically unfounded state laws. Minors† face unique and compounding challenges compared to any other age group. This brief describes the unique barriers that Wisconsin minors must navigate to access abortion care.
